DHARAMSHALA: Marking its 13th publication year, the globally acclaimed Hindi e-magazine Anhad Kriti (www.anhadkriti.com) hosted a special Hindi high-tea event, “A Hindi Poetic Gathering on World-Peace and Co-operation”, in Miami, Florida.

The event, held at Matheson Hammocks Park, brought together Hindi literature enthusiasts, expatriates and cultural connoisseurs to celebrate poetry, peace and global cooperation.

This gathering, the fifth Hindi literary meet organised by Anhad Kriti in Miami, showcased the magazine’s commitment to fostering a vibrant community of Hindi literature lovers overseas.

Nearly 35 participants attended, demonstrating the growing influence of Hindi literary culture in the United States. The event coincided with the Women’s Day weekend, further amplifying its significance as a platform for diverse voices.

Prominent figures in the Hindi literary community, including Anhad Kriti editors Pushpraj Chaswal and Dr Premlata ‘Prempushp’, along with their daughter Vibha, were present.

Attendees immersed themselves in an evening of heartfelt poetry and artistic performances dedicated to world peace and goodwill. Renowned poets and writers such as Damodar-Lalita Agarwal, Vijaya Tripathi, Swati Bagga, Pammi-Amarjeet Sahni, Rishika Daswani, Katyayani-Ambar Bhatnagar, Punita Sharma and Aruna Agarwal recited their creative works, adding depth and inspiration to the gathering.

A highlight of the evening was a unique classical dance-poetry fusion by Bharatanatyam Guru Hemavati Sharma and the children of Nritya Academy. Their world-peace-themed prayer through traditional Indian dance added a mesmerising artistic touch to the occasion.

The younger generation also took centrestage, with contributions from Anhad Kriti’s “In My Opinion” column. Young voices — Tanvi, Tvisha, Vignesh and Aanya — shared their thoughts on world peace, behavioural harmony and global goodwill, offering fresh perspectives on the event’s theme.

Concluding the nearly five-hour-long gathering, the editorial duo Chaswal and Dr Premlata honoured dance guru Hemavati Sharma with the Sahityashray-2023 memorabilia for her contribution to literature and the arts.

Dr Premlata extended her gratitude to all attendees, acknowledging their unwavering dedication to preserving and promoting Hindi literature and culture beyond national boundaries.
