Mandi police crack down on fraud network; 2 arrested, office sealed in Zirakpur The Newz Radar MANDI: After the multi-crore cryptocurrency fraud, a major forex trading scam amounting to Rs 210 crore and spanning across several states, including Punjab, Goa, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi and Gujarat, has been unearthed in Himachal Pradesh. According to information, a large number of people have been duped by fraudsters under the scam. In response to complaints, the Mandi police have initiated an investigation and arrested two persons from Mandi. One of the accused who was looking to flee the country was apprehended by Delhi Police. Mandi Superintendent of Police Soumya, at a press conference in Mandi on Thursday (November 9, 2023), said that unlicensed offices of the QFX trade company have been sealed in Zirakpur. Soumya highlighted the fraud business being operated in the garb of Forex trading, shedding light on the individuals who fell victim to the scam. In the aftermath of the police intervention, Rs 30 lakh was seized from the accused’s account. The Superintendent of Police emphasized that the investigation is ongoing to trace the main culprits behind the scam. Soumya also urged the people to refrain from pursuing investments that promised higher profits, emphasising the risks associated with such ventures.
