The Bharmaur administration, under the Himachal Pradesh government and Shri Manimahesh Trust, has issued a clarification regarding the recently introduced “cleanliness fee” at the Chaurasi Temple complex.
Officials explained that some confusion had arisen, with people believing that prior permission was now mandatory for religious events. The administration emphasized that no such requirement exists. Devotees and local residents remain free to conduct traditional religious activities—such as dhams, bhandaras, and other ceremonies—without seeking prior approval.
The clarification stressed that the “cleanliness fee” is solely intended to strengthen sanitation arrangements. Funds collected will be used for regular cleaning of the temple premises, scientific disposal of waste generated after bhandaras, and maintaining overall hygiene in the sacred area.
Authorities appealed to devotees to view the fee as a cooperative contribution toward preserving the sanctity and cleanliness of the holy site. They noted that only through collective support can the dignity and purity of this revered shrine be upheld.
