The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Himachal Pradesh inaugurated its 46th State Convention today at the sacred Gupt Ganga campus in Kangra district. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 500 student activists from colleges and universities across the state.
The convention was formally opened by Chief Guest Shri Suresh Kumar Yadav, Special Guests Shri Ashok Kumar and Garaj Singh, ABVP National Vice President Prof. Pradeep Kumar, State President Dr. Rakesh Sharma, and State Secretary Kumari Nancy Atal.

A Platform for Youth-Led Nation Building
Dr. Rakesh Sharma emphasized that the convention coincides with the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), marking a moment of pride and reflection. “ABVP continues to play a pivotal role in nation-building and character development. Strengthening the organization is essential to fortify the country,” he said.
Prof. Pradeep Kumar highlighted the spiritual significance of the venue and the opportunity to witness exhibitions showcasing year-round ABVP activities. “Youth power was instrumental in India’s freedom struggle. ABVP was founded to channel that same spirit of nationalism and purpose among students,” he noted.
Social Harmony and Environmental Responsibility
Special Guest Shri Ashok Kumar spoke about the need to address historical gaps in India’s social fabric. He advocated for the implementation of the ‘Panch Parivartan’ — five key societal reforms — with social harmony as a cornerstone. “Youth must rise to bridge divisions and foster unity,” he urged.

Chief Guest Shri Suresh Kumar Yadav called the student gathering the future of India. He encouraged youth to engage in nation-serving initiatives like environmental conservation and self-awareness. “The spirit of ‘Sw’ — selfhood — must be nurtured among students,” he said.
Energizing the Youth Movement
State Secretary Kumari Nancy Atal shared that nearly 500 ABVP activists from across Himachal Pradesh have joined the convention. “These young changemakers will dedicate themselves to strengthening the nation in diverse fields. ABVP has always instilled a deep sense of nationalism in youth,” she affirmed.
The convention is expected to continue with sessions on leadership, social initiatives, and cultural programs, energizing the student movement with renewed vigor and purpose.
