647 participate in Shimla mini-marathon organised by ARTRAC to mark Army Day

Shimla: In the run-up to Army Day 2025, the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) based in Shimla hosted a Mini-Marathon on January 19, 2025.
The event, organised under the “Khelo India” and “Fit India” initiatives, drew enthusiastic participation from Shimla residents, highlighting the importance of fitness and patriotism.
The marathon featured two categories: the 5-km “Run for Fun” and the 10-km “Mini-Marathon”. Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of ARTRAC, flagged off the event at the iconic Ridge in Shimla.
A total of 647 participants, including men, women and children across various age groups, participated in the event. The initiative was aimed at celebrating Army Day, fostering a spirit of nationalism among the youth, and inspiring them to consider careers in the armed forces.

Winners across various categories were recognised for their outstanding performance:
10-km winners:
Men: Nayak Kulbir Singh, Balbir Kumar
Women: Sunita, Himani
5-km Winners:
Men: Sepoy Rahul Yadav, CHM Vijay Raut
Women: Sonia, Pratibha Sharma
Children: Ram Kishan, Yashasvi Sharma, Divyanshi, Gurbani
