Chamba: Three persons from Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir were *killed and three injured when the car they were travelling in fell into a gorge near Keru Pahad on the Chamba-Pathankot National Highway (NH-154A) in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday (March 9, 2025).
The accident occurred close to Tunuhatti and the car (Maruti Celerio) bore registration number JK08P-7325).
The three persons were *killed on the spot while the injured have been admitted to hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Vidya Devi, wife of Pathano Ram, a resident of Vehi Dedra in Basohli tehsil of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir; Manu, son of Joginder, resident of Vehi Dedra and aged 13-14 years, and Mahinder Kumar, son of Ram Raseelo, a resident of Khajura in Basohli, aged 48 years.
The authorities rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, but preliminary reports suggest the driver may have lost control of the vehicle due to slippery road conditions.

The police have registered a case and initiated inquest proceedings. The incident has sent shockwaves through the victims’ families and their hometown in Kathua.
