DHARAMSHALA: In a proud moment for Himachal Pradesh, 23-year-old Vaibhav Singh from Jhanduta in Bilaspur district has cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024 with an impressive All India Rank of 82.
Remarkably, Vaibhav achieved this feat in his very first attempt. Hailing from a family rooted in education, his father Virender Singh serves as a principal at Panoha school while his mother Monika is a physics professor at the Government College, Bilaspur.
Vaibhav completed his early education in Rohru (Shimla) and pursued his Class 10 from Shimla Public School, followed by Class 12 from DAV-New Shimla.
He went on to graduate with honours in Political Science from Delhi University. His achievement is being seen as not just a personal victory, but also an inspiration for aspiring civil servants in the region.
Shimla’s Ayushi Thakur gets AIR 325
Another remarkable achiever from Himachal is Ayushi Thakur, a native of Junga in Shimla district, who has secured an All India Rank of 325.
With her selection into the Indian Revenue Service (IRS), Ayushi marks a successful conclusion to her third attempt at the UPSC.
She began her schooling at Keonthal Convent School in Junga (Shimla) and scored an impressive 95 per cent in Class 12 with humanities.
She holds a degree from Delhi University and has also completed a diploma in Women Empowerment from IGNOU. Ayushi began her civil services preparation during her college years and believes that consistent effort and focused study are the keys to success.
She credited her parents, Madan Mohan and Sulakshana Thakur, for their unwavering support, especially during tough times.
Shimla’s Saurabh Kumar Singh secures AIR 378 in first try
Adding to the list of successful candidates from Himachal is Saurabh Kumar Singh, originally from Shoghi but currently residing in West Vinod Nagar in Delhi.
Saurabh earned an All India Rank of 378 in his debut attempt. He completed his schooling up to Class 10 from DAV School, Shoghi, and later graduated from Deshbandhu College, Delhi University.
According to his father Upendra Kumar Singh, Saurabh’s journey to success was paved with dedication and disciplined preparation. His result has brought immense pride to his family and serves as further motivation for young aspirants in the state.
