25 injured as HRTC bus meets with accident in Bilaspur

Ten passengers were injured when the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus they were travelling in met with an accident in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh.

According to information provided by the Bilaspur District Emergency Operations Centre, the accident at Ghyal village under Jukhala post office of Bilaspur Sadar tehsil.

The bus is learnt to have veered off the road after hitting a truck and fell into a roadside ditch. There were about 25 passengers on the bus when the accident occurred, said official. They said that of the 10 injured passengers, seven had been admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Bilaspur and the remaining three to the Community Health Centre at Markand.

The police have started inquest proceedings while the HRTC’s Bilaspur division too has started an investigation to ascertain how the accident occurred.
