11.25 Litres of Illicit Liquor Seized in Separate Raids by Himachal Pradesh Police in Nurpur

The office of the Superintendent of Police, Police District Nurpur, has reported successful action against illegal liquor, with a total of 11.25 litres seized in two separate cases. Cases have been registered under the Himachal Pradesh Excise Act.

In the first case, police from Rehan Police Station recovered 5.25 litres of country liquor from the possession of Surinder Singh, a resident of Chhattar, Tehsil Fatehpur, during a raid conducted on February 13, 2026. FIR No. 15/2026 dated 13.02.2026 has been registered under Sections 39(1)(A)-33-11 of the Himachal Pradesh Excise Act at Rehan Police Station. The accused was arrested and later released on bail as per legal provisions. Further investigation is underway.

In another operation on the same day, police from Nurpur Police Station seized 6 litres of English liquor from Bhuri Singh, a resident of Giyora, Tehsil Nurpur. FIR No. 45/2026 dated 13.02.2026 has been registered under the relevant sections of the Himachal Pradesh Excise Act. The accused was arrested and subsequently released on bail. Investigation in the matter is ongoing.

The district police have reiterated their commitment to continue strict action against the manufacture, transportation, and sale of illicit liquor.
