In all, ₹7 lakh to be provided to families with completely damaged houses The Newz Radar SOLAN: Efforts are underway to resettle families displaced by the recent rain devastation in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh with the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government releasing the first instalment of Rs 12.50 crore for the construction of 413 houses. The financial compensation is part of the Rs 4,500 crore disaster relief package announced by the state government recently. Each affected family will receive Rs 3 lakh for house construction in the first phase. The district administration has compiled a list of families whose houses were completely damaged by the rain, totaling 413 in Solan district. These families are set to receive a financial package of Rs 28.91 crore for house construction. As per the state government’s disaster relief package, each family is entitled to Rs 7 lakh, with the first installment being Rs 3 lakh and the remaining Rs 4 lakh to be paid in the second installment. Across the five sub-divisions of Solan district, a total of 1,196 houses suffered damage, with 413 completely destroyed and 783 partially damaged. Chief Minister Sukhu had said that houses that were completely damaged would receive Rs 7 lakh each in financial assistance. Additionally, Rs 7.83 crore has been earmarked for the repair of 783 partially damaged houses in Solan district, with each affected family receiving Rs 1 lakh. The most extensive damage occurred in the Nalagarh development block, where 525 houses were affected, including 293 pucca and 244 kutcha houses. Preparations are underway to disburse financial assistance under the disaster relief package, with the first installment aimed at aiding affected families in rebuilding their homes. Solan DC Manmohan Sharma said that the economic package of Rs 7 lakh would be provided to families with completely damaged houses, and the district had received about Rs 12.50 crore as the initial installment.
