Palampur — In a significant boost to local infrastructure, MLA Ashish Butail announced that ₹1.14 crore will be spent on constructing a new Panchayat Bhavan in Badher Gram Panchayat. The tendering process for the project is nearing completion.
The announcement came during a public gathering where Butail inaugurated a newly built community hall in Harijan Basti, constructed at a cost of ₹4 lakh. The facility is expected to benefit the Shri Sai Mahila Mandal and local residents by providing a dedicated space for meetings and events.
Highlighting ongoing development efforts, Butail shared updates on several key projects:
- Patti–Badher–Gorath Road: Under the NABARD scheme, a ₹9 crore road project is progressing rapidly, promising improved connectivity for Gorath and surrounding areas.
- Veterinary Dispensary: A ₹25 lakh facility is under construction to support livestock owners with accessible veterinary care.
- Basic Amenities: Continuous efforts are underway to ensure every household in the constituency has access to roads, electricity, and drinking water.
Responding to community demands, Butail assured phased funding for a retaining wall, a meeting hall, and the Ravidas Temple within the community hall premises.
Later in the day, the MLA distributed house sanction letters to 76 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 at the Palampur Municipal Corporation. Each beneficiary will receive ₹2.5 lakh in four installments to construct pucca houses.
“Every family dreams of a permanent home where they can live with dignity and safety. This scheme is a step toward fulfilling that dream,” Butail said, urging beneficiaries to begin construction promptly and adhere to the scheme’s guidelines.
The event was attended by Palampur Mayor Gopal Nag, Deputy Mayor Raj Kumar, Municipal Councillors, Additional Commissioner Vikas Sharma, Badher Panchayat Pradhan Balwant Singh, Vice-Pradhan Anuwar Sharma, and officials from various departments including Public Works, Jal Shakti, and Agriculture. Shri Sai Mahila Mandal President Meera Devi and members of women’s groups also marked their presence.
