Students at GSSS-Bharmour receive valuable health tips from Patanjali yoga expert

Bharmour: A special yoga awareness session was organised on Thursday (April 10, 2025) at Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) at Bharmour in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh where students received valuable health and wellness tips from Purushottam Kumar, a representative of the Patanjali Yoga Institute.


During the session, Kumar emphasised the importance of yoga for the holistic development of children — physically, mentally and intellectually. He encouraged students to incorporate yoga into their daily routine to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

“Yoga is essential for students as it promotes concentration, physical fitness and emotional stability,” Kumar said. He urged students to make it a habit to wake up by 5 am and dedicate at least one hour each morning to yoga practice.


Reinforcing the age-old wisdom, he stated, “Health is the greatest wealth.” He highlighted how regular yoga could prevent lifestyle-related disorders from an early age.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from students and staff alike. School Principal Aruna Chadak along with the entire teaching faculty was present on the occasion.


The session aimed not only to introduce yoga practices but also to instill discipline and awareness about healthy living among the younger generation.
