HPV Vaccination Campaign Against Cervical Cancer Launched in Bharmour

A block-level HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccination campaign was launched in Bharmour to prevent cervical cancer, a serious health concern. The initiative was inaugurated at Civil Hospital, Bharmour, by Dr. Janak Raj, MLA of Bharmour-Pangi constituency.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Janak Raj emphasized that cervical cancer is primarily caused by HPV infection, which can be largely prevented through timely vaccination. He described the campaign as a crucial step towards ensuring a healthy and secure future for daughters and women, noting that the HPV vaccine provides effective protection against this life-threatening disease.

He appealed to all parents to get their eligible daughters vaccinated without hesitation, ensuring protection against cervical cancer in the years ahead. He added that a healthy woman is the foundation of a strong society, and public participation in such health initiatives is vital.

During the program, Dr. Dipesh, BMO Bharmour, along with health department staff, explained the campaign’s framework, vaccination process, and its benefits. It was announced that the campaign will be carried out in a phased manner across the block, so that maximum girls can benefit.

Concluding the event, Dr. Janak Raj expressed gratitude to the central and state governments, stating that such initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to women’s health and will bring positive change in society.
