Himachal news: Free multi-specialty medical camp in Mandi on June 8

MANDI: To promote public health and community welfare, a free multi-specialty medical camp will be held in Mandi on Saturday (June 8, 2025). The initiative is being jointly organised by the Press Club-Mandi, the Himachal Pradesh Medical Representatives Union (HMRU) and Seva Bharti Samiti.


The camp will take place at the Seva Bharti Hostel, Bari Gumanu, and will run from 10 am to 2 pm. It aims to provide free health consultations, diagnostic services and essential medications to people from all walks of life.


Speaking about the initiative, Hans Raj Saini, Secretary, Press Club-Mandi, said, “This medical camp is a small step towards ensuring that quality healthcare reaches even those who may not be able to afford it. We are grateful to all the doctors and volunteers who are coming together for this noble cause. Our goal is to make basic healthcare more accessible to the public.”


Subhash Thakur, president, Press Club-Mandi, said, “We believe the media has a role beyond reporting — it must actively contribute to societal welfare. This camp reflects our commitment to community service. We urge citizens of Mandi and nearby areas to participate and take advantage of the free health services being offered.”

A panel of reputed doctors from various specialties will be available to serve the patients:

  • Dr Avinash Kumar – Surgeon
  • Dr Vikas – Paediatrician
  • Dr Anand Rajan – Physiotherapist
  • Dr Vineet Sharma – Psychiatrist
  • Dr Vikrant Kumar – ENT Specialist
    • A team of dental surgeons from Himachal Dental College, Sundernagar

Free diagnostics and medicines

In addition to consultations, free diagnostic tests such as blood sugar and lipid profile will be conducted on-site. Patients requiring medication will also be provided essential medicines free of cost.
The organisers have extended an open invitation to the residents of Mandi and surrounding areas to take full advantage of this opportunity. They emphasised the importance of early detection and prevention, encouraging everyone to get their health status assessed during the camp.
