Palampur:
A free medical checkup camp was held on Monday (July 7, 2025) at Rotary Bhawan in Palampur to commemorate the 10th death anniversary of the late Swadesh Chopra, a beloved figure remembered for her service, compassion and goodwill.
Organised from 10 am to 2 pm, the camp was a collaborative effort by Rotary Eye Hospital-Maranda, Rotary Women and Child Care Centre-Thakurdwara and Rotary Club-Palampur. The initiative aimed to extend free healthcare services to the community, especially women and children.
Specialist medical consultations were provided by Dr Poonam Saluria (gynaecologist), Dr Alok Yadav (paediatrician) and Nitin Rana (optometrist), who examined dozens of patients throughout the day.
Prominent figures including former BJP MLA Parveen Kumar, Rotary Club president Ajay Sood and secretary Raghav Sharma attended the event, along with several other respected members of the community. Schoolchildren from nearby institutions also participated in the camp and underwent health checkups.
“Rotary Club has always prioritised community health and service. This camp is a tribute to the memory of Swadesh Chopra and her values of compassion and selfless service,” said Ajay Sood.
