Palampur: On the occasion of National Technology Day, the CSIR–Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT) celebrated India’s scientific achievements and technological self-reliance with a special event dedicated to innovation and empowerment.
The event was inaugurated by Dr Sudesh Kumar Yadav, Director of CSIR-IHBT, in the presence of senior officials and faculty members of the institute.
A key highlight of the day was the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Box and Pots, a rising e-commerce startup in the gifting and décor space and CSIR-IHBT.
The agreement was signed by Abhishek Sharma, the co-founder of Box and Pots. It aims to uplift flower farmers in Himachal Pradesh and promote sustainable floriculture in the region.
Key components of the partnership include:
• Integrating farmers’ floral produce directly into Box and Pots’ gifting and decor categories
• Expanding the reach of local floral products to national markets
• Providing training and innovation opportunities to farmers to enhance quality and productivity
Speaking at the event, Abhishek Sharma said, “This MoU marks a significant step in our mission to blend tradition, technology and entrepreneurship — taking the beauty and hope of our villages to global markets.”
Box and Pots has been actively working to strengthen the rural economy while offering consumers meaningful and emotion-driven gifting solutions. This collaboration with the CSIR-IHBT is expected to bring new momentum to Himachal’s floriculture sector, opening doors for innovation, income generation and sustainable development.
