Kangra District and Sessions Judge Rajeev Bali, who is also the Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, inaugurated a tree plantation drive and literacy camp near the Circuit House in Dharamshala under the aegis of the Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Shimla.
The event was organised in collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department as part of the “Tree Plantation Drive 2025”, as per a statement issued by the District Legal Services Authority Secretary.
Rajeev Bali initiated the programme by planting an Amla (Indian Gooseberry) sapling. Several dignitaries of the Dharamshala court also participated in the event, including Jyotsna Sumant Dadhwal, Presiding Judge, Family Court; Rajesh Chauhan, Additional District and Sessions Judge; Sheetal Sharma, Additional District and Sessions Judge; Nitin Mittal, Additional District and Sessions Judge (POCSO Court); Hakikat Dhanda, Chief Judicial Magistrate; Shikha Lakhanpal, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority; and Varun, Judicial Magistrate, First Class.
Officials of the Forest Department and students of the Government Boys Senior Secondary School, Dharamshala, also took part in the plantation drive. Together, they planted 35 saplings of various species, including Amla, Jamun, Baheda, Harad, Wan and Deodar.
On the occasion, District and Sessions Judge Rajeev Bali encouraged the children to plant more trees and protect the environment.
