Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district has steadily earned a reputation as one of the state’s most promising cultural and creative hubs, producing artists who have successfully carved a space for themselves in Indian cinema and entertainment.

From Bollywood actress and MP Kangana Ranaut to actor Ayush Sharma, Mandi has already contributed notable names to the national film industry. Now, adding to this growing legacy, another young talent from the region is beginning to make his mark on major platforms.

Himanshu Rana, a rising actor from Batyana village in Mandi district, has taken an important step forward in his career with his appearance in Netflix’s acclaimed web series ‘Kohrra Season 2’, which premiered on February 11.

In the series, Rana plays a impactful role as a “boyfriend,” drawing attention for his screen presence and performance. His entry into an internationally streamed project is being viewed as a significant breakthrough—not only for him personally, but also for aspiring artists from smaller towns who dream of reaching larger stages.

With a strong foundation in theatre, Himanshu has been steadily building his portfolio. He previously appeared in the 2023 blockbuster ‘Jawan’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, and has also been associated with the Punjabi OTT project ‘Pradhan Season 1’. He is currently involved in upcoming film ventures, including ‘Sharma Ji’, further underlining his growing momentum in the industry.

Beyond films and web series, Himanshu Rana has also featured in television campaigns for several prominent brands such as Meta, Kelvinator, Birla TMT Steel, and Tynor, reflecting his expanding professional reach in the entertainment and advertising space.

His achievements have sparked pride and celebration within his family and community. His mother Kiran, father Professor Hemraj Rana, and brother Dr Aman Rana have expressed immense happiness over his success, while his village has welcomed the news with enthusiasm and joy.

Himanshu Rana’s journey serves as a powerful reminder that talent from the hills of Himachal can find recognition far beyond regional boundaries, proving that with dedication and perseverance, even small-town beginnings can lead to national and global platforms.
