Dharamshala: Renowned business consultant Kapil Sharma, a Delhi-based global finance and transformation expert with professional experience across the UK, US, Germany and the Asia-Pacific region, inspired girl students of Government Senior Secondary School, Dharamshala, during the Udaan career guidance event organised by The Newz Radar in collaboration with Aarni University on Wednesday.
Addressing the students as one of the key guest speakers, Sharma emphasised the need to look beyond traditional career boundaries in a rapidly changing global landscape.
“If we talk about the global scenario, there is growing demand for Yoga teachers and psychology professionals,” he said, underlining how career trends are shifting worldwide.
He said that it is no longer necessary that students studying science will only become engineers or doctors, or that those in arts and commerce will remain limited to selected fields. “Artificial Intelligence has changed everything,” Sharma remarked, encouraging students to align their skills with emerging technologies and future-oriented professions.
Kapil Sharma also delivered a demo lecture, giving students a glimpse into how data, technology and finance intersect in today’s professional world. With nearly 19 years of global experience, 10 of them with PwC, he is known as a forward-thinking finance leader specialising in finance data architecture, financial management, analytics, automation and large-scale transformation projects.
His work spans major international markets, including India, the UK, Germany, the USA and APAC. During his career, Sharma has led several high-impact international projects, including on-site assignments in London and Hamburg, handling financial conversions, balance sheet substantiation and business process transitions across multiple countries. He has also played a key leadership role in cloud migration initiatives, managing large teams and complex financial data systems while ensuring strong governance and compliance.
Highlighting the importance of adaptability, he shared examples of how automation, system migration and data analytics tools like SQL, Power BI, QlikView and Oracle have transformed decision-making efficiency in global organisations. His contributions have resulted in significant improvements such as major reductions in reporting complexity, enhanced financial accuracy, and large time savings through automation.
The session proved highly engaging for the students who interacted enthusiastically and gained valuable insights into global careers, future skills and the evolving role of technology. Organisers said the objective of the Udaan event — to guide and empower students in making informed career choices — was successfully met through Sharma’s practical and inspiring address.
The Principal of Government Senior Secondary School, Mamta Thakur, was also present at the Udaan event. Kapil Sharma expressed his gratitude to the school management, Aarni University, and The Newz Radar for designing such an initiative aimed at supporting students.
