The Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti, Dharamshala Block, held an important meeting at Guru Ravidas Auditorium, Yol Cantonment. The session featured detailed discussions on the organization’s history, working style, and future challenges.
During the program, Vijay highlighted the committee’s contributions in Kangra district, while Madam Raka Call spoke on the functioning of democratic organizations. Manoj Chandel emphasized that the Samiti is a people’s movement where individuals from diverse ideologies unite against superstition, orthodoxy, and substance abuse. He noted that anyone can join the organization by paying a nominal membership fee of ₹10.
Dr. Sanjay Chaudhary stressed the need to strengthen the organization to meet future challenges. Other speakers included Parminder Singh, Ramesh Bhanot, Sukhdev Singh, and district president Urmila Rana.
At the conclusion, Dr. Sanjay Chaudhary proposed the new executive committee for Dharamshala Block, which was unanimously approved. The newly elected team includes:

- General Secretary: Manoj Chandel

The committee resolved to launch voter awareness campaigns ahead of the upcoming panchayat elections by distributing leaflets and conducting door-to-door outreach. A stronger anti-drug drive and expanded membership campaign were also pledged.
Following the conference, the newly formed executive committee held its first meeting under the chairmanship of President Swarnlata. The session prioritized membership drives, voter awareness, and anti-drug initiatives. The next meeting will be held on May 8 in Dari.
