A significant decision has been taken by the Kali Mata Mahila Mandal of Kathla village, which falls under Gram Panchayat Draman in Chamba development block. In a recent meeting, members unanimously resolved that any individual or family found involved in serious narcotic substances such as “chitta” (heroin) will face social boycott.
The decision was made with the objective of protecting society from the growing menace of drug abuse and ensuring a better future for the coming generations.
Awareness Campaign to Be Launched
Pradhan Kunta Devi, Treasurer Suno Devi, and Secretary Priya jointly informed that the meeting also decided to launch a drug awareness campaign in the village. The Mahila Mandal pledged to collectively fight against this social evil and spread awareness about the harmful effects of narcotics.
During the meeting, members held detailed discussions on the dangerous impact of drugs like chitta and their negative effects on youth and society. It was emphasized that if strict steps are not taken in time, future generations could face serious consequences.
