In a major crackdown against narcotics, Nurpur Police have detained a habitual drug trafficker under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988 (PIT NDPS Act).
The accused, Bharat alias Tamma, son of late Setha Ram, resident of village and post office Channi, Tehsil Indora, District Kangra (H.P.), has a history of involvement in multiple NDPS cases, including recovery of contraband substances. Considering his repeated involvement and active role in illegal activities, the competent authority issued a preventive detention order.
In addition to this, Nurpur Police have arrested four drug peddlers in the past two days under separate NDPS cases, with legal proceedings underway.
Police officials emphasized that the anti-narcotics campaign will continue with strict action against offenders. The public has been urged to actively support the drive by reporting any suspicious activities immediately to the police.
