In an initiative aimed at empowering youth with employable skills, HDFC Bank, in collaboration with the Ambuja Foundation, has launched the Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Institute in Kangra.
The project, backed by an investment of Rs 3 crore, is designed to provide skill-based training to 1,360 youth over a period of three years.
The institute offers five specialised courses, including General Duty Assistant, Assistant Beauty Therapist, Assistant Electrician, Future Skills and Domestic Data Entry Operator, catering to diverse employment sectors. The programme aims to bridge the gap between education and industry demands, equipping participants with practical knowledge and enhancing their career prospects.
HDFC Bank’s commitment to social responsibility drives this initiative, while the Ambuja Foundation’s expertise ensures seamless implementation. The institute is now operational and it was formally launched at 11.30 am on Friday (November 29, 2024).
The project emphasises not only skill development but also entrepreneurship, encouraging youth to become self-reliant contributors to the economy. The initiative reflects a larger vision to create sustainable employment opportunities in Himachal Pradesh and contribute to the nation’s growth.
With this project, HDFC Bank and the Ambuja Foundation aim to inspire a new generation of skilled professionals ready to meet the challenges of a competitive job market, said an official.
