Dharamshala: BJP and Congress governments in Himachal were accused of neglecting the Gaddi community and its seven sub-castes. The accusation was levelled by the Himalayan Gaddi Union spokesperson Ramesh Bola while interacting with media persons here on Thursday.
He highlighted decades of alleged exploitation and announced their intention to participate in upcoming elections. Recent gatherings have seen significant turnout from various Gaddi sub-castes, collectively numbering around 25,000 individuals.
Bola criticized the exclusion of marginalized sub-castes, emphasizing the need for unity among the Gaddi community. He challenged the prevailing narrative of Gaddi representation, asserting that those historically marginalized must be included. The union spokesperson also hinted at fielding candidates in the forthcoming by-elections, signaling a potential shift in local political dynamics.
