Dharamshala: Himachal’s opposition leader Jairam Thakur expressed confidence in BJP’s victory in the upcoming by-elections across nine constituencies in the state. He was speaking in a meeting in Dharamshala on Tuesday.
Thakur, while talking about the Congress party’s defeat in the recent Rajya Sabha elections, said that the Chief Minister should have resigned on moral grounds.
He highlighted the expulsion of 15 BJP MLAs by the Congress, emphasizing the BJP’s growing influence in the region.
Thakur also hinted at Sudhir Sharma’s significant role as BJP’s candidate from Dharamshala. He commended the increasing membership in the party and outlined the goal of securing Sharma’s victory in the by-elections. Thakur assured respect for Congress members joining BJP and addressed questions about Kishan Kapoor’s absence from the event, hinting at his imminent participation.
He ridiculed the Congress government’s distribution of Rs 1500, suggesting that women now refuse such offerings.
