Dharamshala: In preparation for the upcoming Test match between India and England at the international cricket stadium in Dharamshala from March 7 to 1, special arrangements have been made for the teams’ arrival.
While Indian team captain Rohit Sharma was notably absent upon their arrival on Sunday via a special flight at the Kangra Airport, approximately 500 to 600 police personnel have been assigned to oversee security arrangements during the match.
Additionally, police officers will also be deployed to manage services. To ensure smooth traffic flow and proper crowd management, parking arrangements have been made in various areas, including VIP parking at the football field.
Superintendent Shalini Agnihotri stated that preparations have been completed to enforce strict law and order, ensure smooth traffic flow, and manage crowds effectively during the matches.
Apart from the 600 police personnel stationed during the match, teams from Dharamshala, McLeod Ganj, Gaggal, and Kangra police stations will also provide their services.
The administration and police have jointly devised a plan, dividing the city into sectors and marking important parking spots. Sector heads have been instructed to maintain police-designated parking areas at various locations, including the cricket stadium, Hotel Radisson, and alongside players.
Around 500 to 600 security personnel will remain stationed during the match to ensure smooth traffic and transportation arrangements.
