Mandi: As the week-long International Shivratri Fair draws nearer, Mandi Municipal Corporation has embarked on an intensive cleaning drive in Mandi town. The municipal corporation’s team, in collaboration with the fire brigade, undertook a thorough cleaning in and around Chauhatta Bazar.
The campus of the famous Baba Bhutanath Temple and drains of Bhoothnath Bazar, Chauhatta Bazaar, Moti Bazar, and Chandralok Gali were cleaned with pressure pipes to remove all kinds of blockages. This initiative was prompted by the onset of the International Mahashivratri festival, during which all deities temporarily forsake their celestial abodes to grace the earthly realm.
Consequently, alongside other areas, particular emphasis is being placed on ensuring the pristine cleanliness of Chauhatta Bazaar where most of the deities meet and greet each other and bless the devotees. Additionally, continuous patrols by the municipal corporation’s team are underway to prevent any disruptions during public gatherings within the city.
The Mahashivratri festival in Mandi is a significant event, drawing devotees and tourists from far and wide. The efforts of the municipal corporation to ensure cleanliness and safety during this auspicious occasion are commendable and are expected to enhance the overall experience for visitors.
