Kangra: In a stern move against individuals driving under the influence of alcohol, the Kangra Court, led by Additional chief Judicial Magistrate Navkamal, has levied fines exceeding INR 1,74,500 in 15 cases. The court’s decisive action comes as a response to instances of intoxicated driving, aligning with law enforcement efforts to curb such dangerous behavior on the roads.
On Friday, the Additional chief Judicial Magistrate imposed fines ranging from a minimum of five thousand to a maximum of ten thousand rupees on drivers found operating their vehicles after consuming alcohol. This marks a significant legal stance against those endangering public safety through drunk driving.
Assistant Prosecutor Sweta revealed that the court conducted hearings on a total of 15 cases related to vehicle violations. During the proceedings, the Magistrate not only imposed substantial fines but also demonstrated a stringent approach by collecting fines totaling over INR 1,74,500 from the offenders.
The intensified legal action against drunk driving underscores the judiciary’s commitment to ensuring road safety and protecting citizens from the perils of alcohol-impaired driving.
