Road safety awareness program organized at Dharamshala bus stand

Dharamshala: Under the Road Safety Awareness Campaign, the Regional Manager of HRTC, Dharamshala, Pankaj Chaddha, organized an awareness program at the Dharamshala bus stand on February 7.
Chaddha was the chief guest at the event which also marked the 50th anniversary of HRTC.
During the program, commendations and memorabilia were awarded to the drivers, conductors, mechanics, and other staff of HRTC Dharamshala for their exemplary services.
Addressing the gathering, Chaddha emphasized the critical importance of adhering to traffic rules, stressing that compliance not only ensures personal safety but also plays a vital role in safeguarding others’ lives.
He urged all vehicle operators to strictly follow road safety regulations, highlighting that approximately 99% of road accidents are attributed to human error. Additionally, he underscored the dangers of overspeeding, using mobile phones while driving, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, which account for 65% of road accidents.
He expressed concern over the devastating impact of road accidents on families and urged responsible citizenship in upholding traffic rules.
Chaddha also acknowledged the 50-year milestone of HRTC, lauding the enduring trust and emotional bond shared between the organization and the people of Himachal Pradesh.
He praised the strong emotional connection between the people and HRTC, attributing it to the dedication of every employee associated with the organization. He highlighted the distinctive identity of HRTC drivers nationwide, reflecting the pride and respect the organization commands.
Earlier, Regional Manager Sahil Kumar welcomed the chief guest and provided detailed information about HRTC bus services through the Regional Manager’s Office. The event featured performances of local songs to raise awareness among attendees. Notable personalities, including drivers, conductors, and staff of HRTC Dharamshala, were present at the occasion.
