Mandi: The district-level celebration for the 75th Republic Day took place at the historic Seri ground in Mandi city, with Industries Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan presiding over the event.
Commencing with the paying of respects to Mahatma Gandhi’s statue, Minister Chauhan then led the Flag unfurling ceremony, followed by a parade.
The parade featured contingents from various sectors, including Himachal Pradesh Police, Women Police, Home Guards, Women Home Guards, Police Band, and school children.
In his address, Minister Chauhan expressed gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s independence. Emphasizing the state government’s commitment to self-reliance, he highlighted ongoing initiatives, including the development of six industrial townships, with a notable mention of a township in Mandi district for which he announced a funding of Rs 6 crores.
Chauhan also addressed concerns about fair job selections, assuring that government jobs are awarded solely based on merit, without any form of favouritism.
