NURPUR: A high-spirited cycling expedition team of the 26 Punjab Battalion, operating under the aegis of Headquarters Western Command, Indian Army, arrived at Noorpur Public School today as part of their 1,040 km journey commemorating the 40th anniversary of Operation Pawan.
The cycling contingent was warmly accorded a traditional welcome by School Director Arvind Dogra, Principal Anmol Dogra, alongside enthusiastic faculty members and students wave-flagging national tricolors.
Addressing the gathering during the reception ceremony, Team Leader Captain Anish expressed deep gratitude to the school administration, staff, and students for their heartfelt hospitality. Highlighting the core objectives of the grueling expedition—which spans across Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab, including arduous high-altitude terrains like Keylong at 11,000 feet—Captain Anish shared inspiring insights into military discipline, teamwork, and physical fitness. He urged the students to uphold values of patriotism, self-discipline, and dedication to national service, inspiring them to consider rewarding career pathways in the Indian Armed Forces.
