Projects cover roads, drinking water, education, healthcare, rural infrastructure and public services across four Assembly constituencies

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, during his one-day visit to Mandi district on Saturday, inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 21 development projects involving a total investment of ₹136.25 crore. The projects cover the Balh, Nachan, Mandi Sadar and Karsog Assembly constituencies and include road improvement, drinking water supply, healthcare, education and rural infrastructure.
At Kansa Maidan in Balh, the Chief Minister inaugurated several road projects. These included the ₹10.73-crore metalling and tarring work on the Chandiyal-Pipli-Kuthwari-Kandi-Tarapaur-Kharsi-Mansa Mata Temple Dola-Tikkar road; the ₹8.28-crore Sakroha-Naina Mata Temple Pipli-Nadaul-Kasla-Malwana road; the ₹5.11-crore Lakhwan-Dahanu-Bhanshot-Rathol-Andreta-Mairamseit road; and the ₹3.08-crore Tanda-Kohla-Tikkri-Kawalkot-Sidhkothi road via Baba Balak Nath Temple.
He also inaugurated the ₹3.51-crore Doyda Bridge-Chhajwan-Khabu Panchayat Ghar-Second Khabu-Darbyas road and the ₹2.08-crore Public Works Department divisional office building at Nerchowk. The ₹25.89-crore upgrading work of the Nerchowk-Ratti-Kalkhar road was also dedicated to the public.
Healthcare infrastructure received attention with the inauguration of an Ayurvedic Health Centre building at Behna, constructed at a cost of ₹32 lakh, and a veterinary dispensary building at Kothi, costing ₹23 lakh.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated a ₹43.91-crore lift drinking water supply scheme for habitations under the IPH Sub-Division Rewalsar in Balh tehsil. Another lift water supply project costing ₹17.01 crore, covering Bahli-Mahadev and Neri-Kangar-Panyas under the PIU Division in Mandi, was also inaugurated.
Other facilities dedicated to the public included the ₹4.42-crore building of Government Primary School Bal in U-Block Mandi, Dahanu and Malthehar panchayat ghar buildings costing ₹38 lakh each, the ₹25-lakh Mandav Rural Haat at Pandoh (Syog), and patwar khanas at Rajbari and Karsog, each costing ₹12 lakh.
The Chief Minister laid foundation stones for an Ayurvedic Health Centre building at Halyatar, employee accommodation at Kangni, a Panchayat Community Centre at Ratti in Balh and a project involving FPQ provision on Sekad Khad and Behna Nala in Balh tehsil.
Sukhu said the projects would strengthen basic infrastructure and public services in the concerned areas. He said improved roads would facilitate smoother vehicular movement and strengthen Mandi district’s road network, while the drinking water schemes would provide people with cleaner, safer and more regular water supply.
