A dangerously dry tree standing along the Pathankot National Highway near Gaggal Airport has become a serious safety concern for commuters and VIP movements. Locals warn that the tree, located right beside the busy highway, could collapse during heavy rain or strong winds, putting thousands of vehicles, schoolchildren, women, and daily travelers at risk.
Residents including Motiram, Abhishek Kumar, Pankaj, Sanjeev Kumar, Gagan, Sangram, and Bunty have raised the issue, urging authorities to act swiftly. They have appealed to the DC Kangra, SDM Shahpur, NHAI, PWD, and the Forest Department to remove the tree immediately in the interest of public safety.
Given the high-speed traffic and frequent VIP convoys passing through this stretch, locals insist that waiting for an accident would be a grave mistake. They demand proactive action to prevent a potential tragedy on this crucial highway link.
