The recent Panchayat elections in Kugti Gram Panchayat, Bharmour, set a new example of youth participation. In the first phase of elections held on May 26, young candidate Ritik Sharma (Rikki) achieved remarkable success by winning the post of Deputy Pradhan.
What makes his victory special is that this was Ritik Sharma’s very first time casting his vote, and simultaneously, his first attempt at contesting an election—resulting in a clear win. His achievement at such a young age has become a talking point across the region.
Expressing gratitude, Ritik Sharma credited his success to the people of the Panchayat, the youth, and his supporters. He pledged to honor the trust placed in him with sincerity and hard work. His primary focus, he said, will be to accelerate development projects, empower youth, and make Kugti Panchayat clean, prosperous, and progressive.
The victory has sparked notable enthusiasm among the youth of the area, who see Ritik Sharma’s success as a symbol of their growing role in local governance.
