Employees of the Bharmaur Forest Division, along with members of the HP Foresters Welfare Association, have submitted a memorandum to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh through the Acting Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Bharmour. The memorandum calls for reconsideration of the recruitment notification for Assistant Forest Guards issued on April 28, 2026.
In their submission, employees emphasized that Forest Guards form the most crucial link at the grassroots level, responsible for forest protection, prevention of illegal felling, wildfire control, and wildlife conservation. They urged the government to prioritize filling the long-pending vacant Forest Guard posts through regular recruitment processes.
The memorandum further stated that the creation of Assistant Forest Guard posts could disrupt existing workflows and negatively impact the promotion system of departmental employees. The staff demanded that the current recruitment structure be maintained and regular appointments to Forest Guard positions be ensured.
Forest employees expressed hope that the government would take into account their concerns and departmental interests while making a fair and appropriate decision on the matter.
On this occasion, HP Forest Welfare Association Bharmour President Avnish and General Secretary Kuldeep were also present.
