The renowned ancient and historic Kartik Swami Temple in Kugti reopened its doors to devotees on Tuesday after remaining closed for 134 days.

The temple gates were opened following traditional rituals and a havan-puja performed around 10 a.m. With the completion of these ceremonies, devotees in large numbers flocked to seek blessings of Lord Kartik Swami.

Temple priest Machlu Ram Sharma informed that after the prescribed rituals, the temple was formally opened for darshan. He added that a massive turnout of devotees marked the auspicious occasion.

The Bharmaur administration ensured smooth arrangements, with special attention to cleanliness, electricity, water supply, roads, toilets, and parking facilities. Information services and transport arrangements were also strengthened, including special bus services by Himachal Road Transport Corporation for devotees traveling from distant areas.

As in previous years, a community feast (bhandara) was organized, with local youth led by Tilak Sharma playing a key role in serving devotees. A night-long devotional vigil (jagran) was also held, with active participation from priests and local residents.

Specially, devotees observing Kartik vrat arrived in large numbers to express their faith and receive blessings. The entire event was conducted peacefully and in an orderly manner, thanks to the coordination between the local administration and temple committee.
