The ongoing conflict in the Middle East and the resulting global energy concerns may soon begin to impact hill states like Himachal Pradesh. While there is no immediate shortage of petrol and diesel in the state, the government has indicated that the current stock is sufficient for only about 15 days, raising concerns about potential challenges in the near future.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that the situation is under close monitoring. He has directed the Chief Secretary to keep a strict watch and review the status on a daily basis. The CM assured that, as of now, there is no shortage of LPG, petrol, or diesel in the state, but evolving international conditions could have an impact going forward.

While domestic LPG supply remains stable, reports of shortages in commercial gas cylinders have emerged from several parts of the state. The government has taken note of these complaints and is closely monitoring the situation.

On the political front, the Chief Minister responded to Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, who had demanded a probe into the Himcare scheme by a sitting judge. Sukhu clarified that such investigations are typically carried out by government agencies, not sitting judges.

Responding to allegations that development is being concentrated in the Dehra vidhansabha constituency, the CM asserted that balanced development is taking place across Himachal Pradesh. He accused the BJP of making baseless claims for political mileage, stating that the opposition is raising such issues without facts.
