Deputy Commissioner Chamba, Mukesh Repaswal, assured that the supply of commercial LPG cylinders (19 kg) in the district is regular and smooth, urging consumers not to indulge in panic buying.

Chairing a meeting on the distribution of commercial LPG cylinders, he explained that during the current shortage, the state government has issued a policy ensuring priority-based allocation. Under this, 37% of cylinders are reserved for educational institutions and hospitals, 36% for hotels, restaurants, and dhabas, 14% for social functions and gatherings, and 13% for government/public sector undertakings, corporate guest houses, and industrial canteens.

He directed all commercial LPG consumers to place their demand with distributors in advance, and emphasized that distribution must strictly follow the “first come, first served” principle based on booking requests.

To prevent black marketing and hoarding, he instructed the District Controller of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, along with the police department, to take effective measures. He also stressed that with the upcoming tourist season, smooth supply to hotels in tourist destinations like Dalhousie must be ensured.

The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jalam Bhardwaj, District Controller (Food & Civil Supplies) Karan, and Additional Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Sharma.
