Himachal Pradesh’s state government may witness a fresh cabinet formation in the new year. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu, after traveling from Shimla to Delhi on Tuesday, participated in a strategy meeting for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Wednesday. While two cabinet ministers took oath before the winter session of the assembly, Rajesh Dharmani and Yadankshavardhan Goma are yet to be assigned portfolios. Speculation is rife that changes might extend to three existing ministers’ departments along with allocating roles to the new ministers.
The Chief Minister aims to enhance the government’s performance and entrust key responsibilities to young ministers, a topic he is expected to discuss during his Delhi visit. Additionally, the state government might fill vacant positions in boards and corporations during this tour. Discussions with the Election Commission regarding the selection of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections and appointments in the state government will also take place. The ongoing developments indicate a dynamic political landscape in Himachal Pradesh.
