Chants of “Har Har Mahadev” Echo in Dalhousie on Mahashivratri

On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, the surroundigs of Radha Krishna Temple Sanatan Dharam Sabha was immersed in devotion and spiritual fervor. The temple complex resonated with powerful chants of “Har Har Mahadev,” filling the atmosphere with divine energy.

The program commenced at 10:00 a.m. with the chanting of the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra and a sacred havan performed according to Vedic rituals. The sound of Vedic hymns and the holy offerings into the sacred fire created an aura of divinity. At 11:00 a.m., the Purnahuti (final offering) was performed.

At 11:10 a.m., Kanya Pujan was conducted with deep reverence, where young girls were worshipped as manifestations of the Goddess. This was followed by a grand aarti at 11:15 a.m., during which devotees collectively offered prayers in unison. Prasad was distributed to all attendees after the aarti.

On the occasion, Vedic scholar and priest Pandit Aman Shastri said that Mahashivratri marks the divine marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and symbolizes penance, sacrifice, faith, and unwavering devotion. He emphasized that a society becomes stronger when it remains connected to its cultural and spiritual roots.

Expressing gratitude to the devotees present, he stated that such religious gatherings are not merely traditions but powerful spiritual forces that unite society. He also assured that similar grand events will continue to be organized in the future for the preservation and promotion of Sanatan culture.

The program concluded successfully with discipline, devotion, and enthusiasm, spreading renewed spiritual awareness across Dalhousie.
