Residents of Pangi Valley have reason to hope as the long-standing issue of unannounced power cuts may soon be resolved. The Electricity Department has issued an official press note announcing the commencement of restoration work on the 11kV high-voltage line from Thirot to Shour.
According to the press release, the restoration work will be carried out between January 18 and January 25, 2026. The department clarified that if weather conditions remain favorable, power supply through the line could be resumed at any point during this period.
The department has urged all residents in the Thirot Power House to Shour region to exercise extreme caution while working near the high-voltage line, as electricity flow may be restored without prior notice.
Assistant Engineer of the Sach Electricity Sub-Division, Er. Hem Singh Rana, stated that the department is making every effort to complete the work swiftly by taking full advantage of favorable weather conditions, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the valley.
It is worth noting that restoring electricity in remote regions like Pangi Valley poses significant challenges due to harsh winter conditions and difficult terrain. This announcement brings much-needed relief and renewed hope to the local population.
