Chowari (Chamba)
Himachal Administrative Service (HAS) officer Anil Garuda, currently posted in the Chowari area of Chamba district, motivated students to pursue careers aligned with their interests and to move forward with clarity and determination. He was addressing students of Himalayan Public School, Chowari, during the ‘Udaan’ career guidance programme organised by The Newz Radar in association with Aarni University on Friday.
Interacting with students, Garuda emphasised that informed decision-making and clarity of purpose are essential for long-term success. He advised students not to choose career paths under social pressure or imitation, but to carefully assess their own aptitude, interests and strengths before making decisions about their future. According to him, genuine interest in a chosen field makes it easier to overcome challenges and remain consistent despite obstacles.
Sharing insights from his professional journey and administrative experience, the HAS officer underlined the importance of discipline, perseverance and self-belief. He encouraged students to develop habits such as effective time management, continuous learning and self-reflection, which he described as critical tools for academic excellence and personal growth. Garuda also reminded students that setbacks are a natural part of life and should be viewed as learning opportunities rather than failures.
Speaking about the objective of the Udaan initiative, organisers stated that the programme aims to expose students to diverse career opportunities and help them gain early clarity about their academic and professional paths. The collaboration between The Newz Radar and Aarni University, they added, such initiatives are designed to bridge the gap between education and real-world career planning.
Students actively participated in the session, raising questions related to career choices, competitive examinations and skill development. The school management appreciated the organisers for conducting a meaningful and informative programme that added value beyond classroom learning.
