The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Dr Hemraj Rana of Mandi as the State Co-Convenor of the Himachal Pradesh BJP Teachers’ Cell, a decision warmly welcomed by party workers and academicians across the district.
Veteran Educationist and Social Worker
Dr Rana, who retired earlier this year as Associate Professor from Vallabh Government College, Mandi, is widely respected as a senior educationist, articulate speaker, and active social worker. He also serves as the Founder President of the Alumni Association of Vallabh Government College, Mandi.
With a strong background in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Dr Rana has been engaged in organisational work for several years, efficiently handling various responsibilities within the party structure. Party leaders describe him as soft-spoken, approachable, and possessing deep organisational insight.

Reacting to his appointment, Dr Rana expressed gratitude to senior BJP leaders, including former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, State BJP President Rajeev Bindal, State Organisation Minister Siddharthan, Mandi Sadar MLA and former minister Anil Sharma, Chief Convenor of State BJP Cells Purushottam Guleria, State Convenor of the Teachers’ Cell Purushottam Sharma, and Mandi District BJP President Nihal Chand Sharma.

Dr Rana affirmed that he would work with dedication under the principle of “organisation above all” to strengthen the Teachers’ Cell across Himachal Pradesh and live up to the expectations of the party leadership.
