Bharmour
A one-day Farmer Awareness Camp was organized in the tribal region of Bharmour subdivision on Thursday under the Tribal Sub-Plan, with the support of the Plant Genetic Resources Division, New Delhi, and the Agriculture Department, Bharmour.
During the camp, farmers were given important guidance on the conservation and safeguarding of plant genetic resources (plant germplasm) to ensure their preservation for future generations.
The program was attended by experts from the National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR), including Dr. Vishnu Goyal, Principal Scientist; Dr. Subhash Chander, Senior Scientist; and Mr. Chaman Singh, Chief Finance & Accounts Officer. From the Horticulture Department Bharmour, Dr. Manohar Lal participated, while the Agriculture Department was represented by Dr. Naveen, Dr. Vishal, and Shyam, who shared departmental insights with the farmers.
More than 100 farmers took part in the camp and benefitted from the awareness program.
