A meeting of the Block Task Force for the upcoming Pulse Polio Campaign was held under the chairmanship of Palampur SDM Netra Meti on Friday.

The SDM announced that the campaign will run in the Gopalpur Medical Block from December 21 to 23 as part of the National Immunization Day. The initiative aims to protect all children aged zero to five years from polio, under the theme “Two drops of life.”

On December 21, polio drops will be administered at 81 booths set up across the block. To ensure complete coverage, health department teams will conduct door-to-door visits on December 22 and 23 for children who are unable to reach the booths. SDM Meti clarified that even sick children will be given the drops to avoid any gap in the protective cycle.

During the meeting, preparations were reviewed, including the deployment of vaccination teams, booth management, transportation, and communication arrangements. The SDM directed all departments to complete their tasks on time and stressed the importance of micro-planning and coordination at the field level to achieve the goal of polio eradication.

Urging public cooperation, Netra Meti appealed to parents to ensure that all children under five receive the polio drops, securing their safe and healthy future.
