Churdhar Yatra to be suspended From December 1
The district administration has announced a complete ban on the Churdhar pilgrimage from December 1 to April due to extreme cold, snowfall and hazardous trail conditions.
Chopal SDM Hem Chand Verma said the decision was taken in the interest of public safety, as heavy snow and slippery pathways make the route dangerous in winter. Authorities have warned that legal action will be taken against anyone attempting the pilgrimage during the prohibited period.
Past winters have seen several incidents where travellers faced life-threatening situations due to sudden snowstorms and sub-zero temperatures. Officials have urged devotees and tourists to adhere strictly to the advisory and avoid the trek until the temple reopens in spring.
