BJP State Vice President and Member of Parliament Dr. Rajeev Bhardwaj has strongly criticized Congress leaders for allegedly promoting divisive narratives during the ongoing Bihar Assembly elections. Addressing the media, Bhardwaj stated that the first phase of polling has concluded and the second phase is underway, with political analysts predicting a two-thirds majority for the NDA alliance.
He emphasized that “the people of Bihar seek development and stability, not confusion and communal politics.” Bhardwaj accused Congress and RJD of misleading the electorate and attempting to gain support through false claims, including allegations of vote theft. He refuted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s statement that the Election Commission had stolen votes, asserting that voters themselves have confirmed their votes were secure.
On Truth and Democratic Process
Bhardwaj urged political leaders to uphold truth and integrity, stating, “Nation-building cannot be achieved through lies. If anyone has genuine concerns, they should file formal complaints with the Election Commission or seek justice through the courts.” He encouraged citizens to rely on legal institutions rather than public misinformation.
On Army and National Unity
Responding to Congress’s remarks about caste-based divisions in the army, Bhardwaj reaffirmed that “the Indian Army follows only one religion — the military ethos.” He warned against attempts to divide the nation along caste or religious lines and called for vigilance against such rhetoric.
Controversial Statement by Congress Leader
Bhardwaj condemned a recent statement by Telangana Chief Minister and Congress leader Revanth Reddy, who allegedly said, “Congress means Muslim and Muslim means Congress.” Bhardwaj called the remark deeply objectionable and indicative of Congress’s vote-bank politics. He said, “The hunger for power has driven Congress to polarize the nation on religious grounds — something the people of India never imagined.”
BJP’s Vision: Unity and Development
Reiterating BJP’s stance, Bhardwaj said, “Our politics is based on justice and humanity — not caste, religion, or appeasement.” He highlighted India’s inclusive cultural ethos, quoting “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” as the guiding principle of national unity. He urged voters in Bihar to reflect seriously on which parties seek to divide society and which aim to unite it.
Bhardwaj concluded by affirming BJP’s commitment to treating every Indian — Hindu or Muslim — as an equal citizen, stating, “Anyone connected to India’s soil is part of one family. That is our philosophy, our culture, and the soul of India.”
