In response to the tragic incident in Patahila village, Banjar, Kullu district, on December 14, where ten families were displaced due to a severe fire, Chaman Kapoor, the director of the Himalayan Sons Trust and Chairman of the Manali Municipal Council, demonstrated compassion and proactive support. Accompanied by Banjar MLA Surendra Shourie, Kapoor visited the site to assess the situation and offer assistance to the affected families.

Through the Himalayan Sons Trust, Kapoor allocated relief material valued at 2 lakhs, including military-grade tents and ration kits. These tents, designed to accommodate 8 to 10 people, were distributed to the affected individuals, playing a vital role in their recovery. Kapoor had previously contributed over 200 tents during the disaster caused by rainfall in the Mandi parliamentary constituency.

Expressing solidarity with the affected families, Kapoor emphasized the need for a comprehensive relief package, echoing the government’s commitment to a 7 lakh aid package for those affected by disasters. He advocated for an inclusive approach, emphasizing that there should be no discrimination against the affected individuals. Kapoor assured the families of ongoing support and reiterated his dedication to helping them rebuild their lives.

Banjar MLA Surendra Shourie expressed gratitude for Kapoor’s altruistic efforts, recognizing his consistent commitment to aiding disaster-affected individuals. Shourie pledged to advocate for their cause in the legislative assembly and affirmed his ongoing support and assistance for the affected families, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts during times of crisis.
