Guru Nanak Public School-Dalhousie celebrates annual function 'Samman-2025' with grandeur

The prestigious Guru Nanak Public School (GNPS) in Dalhousie celebrated its annual function, ‘Samman-2025’, with great enthusiasm and fanfare at its Banikhet campus. The event was graced by Himachal Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Tiwari as the chief guest.


Upon the chief guest’s arrival, he was warmly welcomed by the school’s Director, NS Bhandari, Principal Navdeep Bhandari and Deepika Bhandari. The DGP formally inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the traditional lamp, symbolising the dispelling of darkness and the advent of knowledge and prosperity.


The event was mesmerising as students of GNPS presented captivating cultural performances. Their talent and dedication captivated the audience, receiving widespread appreciation. The chief guest honoured the achiever students by presenting them with awards and accolades, commending their hard work and excellence.


In his address, DGP Ashok Tiwari expressed his delight at witnessing the talent and skills of students. He highlighted the school’s unique position as a boarding institution that provides high-quality education to students from various states. Reflecting on his own formative years, Tiwari shared personal anecdotes of his experiences living in a hostel during his academic life, connecting deeply with the students.


Speaking on the occasion, the school’s Founder Director, NS Bhandari, recounted the journey of dedication and relentless hard work that has propelled the institution to its current heights of success. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to all the students and their parents for their unwavering trust and support.


Principal Navdeep Bhandari also addressed the gathering, expressing his sincere gratitude to the chief guest for his esteemed presence and for inspiring the students. As a gesture of appreciation, the school management, represented by NS Bhandari, Navdeep Bhandari and Deepika Bhandari, presented a memento to Ashok Tiwari.


The celebrations culminated in a formal dinner hosted in honour of the chief guest. The dinner was attended by a host of distinguished personalities, including former Minister Asha Kumari, and other eminent citizens of Dalhousie.


The event witnessed a notable gathering of dignitaries, including Chamba SP Abhishek Yadav; CMO Dr Vipin Thakur, Dalhousie SDM Anil Bhardwaj, Dalhousie DSP Mayank Sharma, Dalhousie Nagar Parishad Chief Executive Officer Rakhi Kaushal, Dalhousie Public School Chairman Dr Captain GS Dhillon, Sacred Heart School-Dalhousie Principal Sister Molly Cherian, Hilltop School-Dalhousie Chairman Sudhir Dhawan, retired Union Joint Secretary Kiran Chaddha, former Dalhousie Nagar Parishad president Manoj Chaddha, and former Councillors Vandana Chaddha and Radhika Chaddha.
