Mandi – The Rotary Club of Chhoti Kashi, Mandi, marked Teachers’ Day with a special felicitation ceremony, honouring eleven government school educators with the Nation Builder Award for their exemplary contribution to education and society.

The event celebrated the role of teachers beyond classrooms, with speakers underlining three guiding principles—knowledge, values, and character-building—described as the “Three Paras”, essential touchstones for building a strong and enlightened society.

Teachers as True Nation Builders

Addressing the gathering, Rotary member Akhilesh Bharti said that teachers are the foundation of any society and play a pivotal role in shaping future generations. “A good teacher does not just complete a syllabus but provides direction, discipline, and inspiration for life,” he remarked.

Adding to this, Anupama Singh emphasized that teachers hold a responsibility larger than academics. “They are mentors who instill culture, ethics, and resilience in students. In doing so, they contribute directly to building a stronger nation,” she said.

Club President Dr. Hemlata described teachers as society’s “true architects,” noting that “as long as they continue to dedicate themselves with discipline and devotion, India’s knowledge tradition will remain unbroken. Gurus do not just impart lessons, they instill values and ideals.”
